Upper School Counseling Office

Virtually all Minnehaha graduates go on to a four-year college after their senior year. The goal of Minnehaha Academy’s college counseling program is to successfully guide students in their consideration and choice of the appropriate college. Parent information meetings are offered in the freshman, sophomore and junior years. Private conferences are available upon request. The program, however, is focused on the junior and senior years and includes the following important steps:

  • Counselors meet with students individually and in groups
  • Providing testing information and test preparation options
  • Structuring of a planned approach to investigating appropriate colleges (Primarily through “Naviance” –a web based college planning program available to students and parents).
  • Navigating through the application process
  • Selecting which institution to attend

Minnehaha has been very pleased with the success of their search.
