US Library Receives Grant

April 11, 2010 – The Upper School Library was selected by the Northwest Covenant Conference to be the 2009 Second Miler grant recipient, which has allowed the library to completely update the Bible reference section.

March 23, 2010 – Minnehaha sophomore Brigid Kelly, a member of the Talon newspaper staff, participated in a theater review-writing program and contest Feb. 24 at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.

March 22, 2010 – The MA Boys' BB Team advanced to the State Tournament with a win over Brooklyn Center.


State Champs

March 22, 2010 – The MA Girls' BB Team defeated Braham 64-46 to claim the State Class 2A Championship.


Math Masters

March 19, 2010 – The 6th Grade Math Masters Team took home second place and a total of fourteen awards.


MA Journalism Students Honored

March 19, 2010 – Four Minnehaha journalism students were named national winners for photography.


Science Fair

March 11, 2010 – On Monday night, March 8, 113 freshmen scientists presented their findings at the annual Ninth Grade Science Fair.


SC Fourth Grade Team Places First in Region

December 1, 2009 – Minnesota Timberwolves players Ryan Hollins and Damien Wilkins, along with broadcaster John Focke and mascot Crunch, visited Minnehaha Academy today for a Reading Timeout to stress the importance of reading.

Girls' Volleyball to State

November 8, 2009 – For the first time in the program's history, the MA Volleyball team has earned a berth in the 2009 State Tournament. Their first tournament match will be 7 p.m., Thursday (11/12) at the Excel Energy Center.


Boys' Cross Country at State

November 8, 2009 – At the 2009 State Cross Country Meet held November 7, the MA boys placed fourth as a team and senior Jake Brown placed third in the individual Class 1A competition.


French Club - Halloween Party

November 7, 2009 – The French Club had a Halloween party. Students met at the home of Risa Boyce to eat, carve pumpkins, and play games.

Journalism Students Win Honors

October 30, 2009 – Minnehaha students won three group and 14 individual awards Oct. 20 at the annual state high-school journalism convention.

October 7, 2009 – Last weekend, Queen Rebekah and King Taylor reigned over homecoming festivities that included alumni reunions, coronation program, pep fests, volleyball, football, soccer, Redhawk run and dance.


Counselors Meet with 11th Grade Parents

September 21, 2009 – The Upper School Counselors met with the parents of Juniors before the traditional Parent Open House on September 21. The Counseling Office provided a a light meal for the busy parents in attendance. The meeting highlighted important dates and activities that will take place over the next two years in connection with their students' plans after high school, and it also provided a forum for parent input and questions about the college counseling process.


French Club– Students Say Yep to Crepe

September 18, 2009 – The French Club held it’s kickoff event Thursday during FLEX period by serving crêpes and enjoying some popular music from France. French Club is open to all French students and events are planned roughly once per month, usually on the weekend.

September 1, 2009Cynthia McGovern, Lower School art teacher, has written an article titled "Background, Foreground and the Ground in Between: Layers of Depth" published in the September issue of Arts & Activities, the nation's leading art education magazine.

September 1, 2009 – Mr. Meyers and 5 students spent 9 days on the other side of the world in South Korea for June Term.


Minnehaha Staff Member Premieres "Harry Potter" Parody

August 21, 2009 – Staff member Jeremy Gustafson premiered his second short mockumentary film, “Harry Putter and the Chamber Pot of Secrets,” at North Campus on Friday.
