Students Receive State and National Honors in the 2008 National French Contest April 30 , 2008 – Minnehaha students won awards in the National French Contest, competing with over 100,000 of the top French students around the country. The competition included both written and aural components. Alexandra Peterson at Level II won 1st place in Minnesota and 4th place in the United States. Kelsie Lynch at Level III (but competing only against other students like her who have lived a year or more in a French-speaking country) got 3rd place in Minnesota and 4th place in the United States. Christina Keller (Level II) won 7th place in Minnesota, Kate Pitchford (Level II) won 8th place in Minnesota, Ilysha Minor (Level I) got 9th place in Minnesota and Christine Teasdale (Special Level III for students who attended a French immersion school) won 12th place in Minnesota. These four students will join Alexandra and Kelsie at a special awards ceremony in May. |
