Admission Process
An introduction to our school by a friend, requesting materials, or attending one of our open houses during the fall and winter are typical starts to the admission process. We encourage you to visit the campus where your child will attend, early in the process, so you can see the school in action, meet students and talk with faculty and staff. A campus visit and a tour can be scheduled at any time during the admission process.

Filling out the application form and parent statement, and submitting the application fee, will start your admission file. Following this initial step, you’ll receive additional forms that will complete your application.

For students applying to enter Grades 6-12, we require exam results to help us in course placement. Minnehaha Academy administers an entrance exam on several Saturdays during the winter and spring months.

Please call the Admission Office at 612–728–7756 to check available openings in your son or daughter’s grade level.

Timeline
It is best to apply for admission to Minnehaha Academy in the fall of the academic year prior to desired enrollment. This allows your application to be considered in the first round of admission decisions. Applications for the first round must be completed by the end of January for the upcoming school year. Applications received after January are evaluated on a rolling basis, with qualified students accepted for enrollment until the grade level is filled.

February 1: Priority Application Deadline for Admission
March 1: Financial Aid Application Priority Deadline
Fall: The admission process begins in the academic year prior to desired enrollment.

Testing
For students applying for admission to Middle School (Grades 6-8) and Upper School (Grades 9-12), entrance examination results are required to help us gauge potential for academic success and assist in course placement. The exam takes approximately two hours and is free of charge to students with applications on file. Applicants must register for the exam in advance.
