Minnehaha Academy Centennial
Minnehaha Academy’s Centennial in 2012-2013 is a time to look back on the past 100 years and the experiences that students had in every decade. As we look toward the future, we want to remember the past and your stories are an important part. We want to hear your story!
Minnehaha Academy’s philosophy of education states: “We hope that our graduates will display a mature Christian character based on reliance on God’s love and grace, commitment to Christ’s Lordship, a conscientious pursuit of truth and excellence, and a loving integrity in relationships. With this maturity Minnehaha graduates will permeate society with Christian influence and practice.”
Over the last 100 years, nearly 12,000 Minnehaha graduates have been sent into the world to do just that. To celebrate the Centennial, we are creating the MA 100 to highlight 100 of our alumni who have influenced our world in the last 100 years. During the Centennial Year, we will publish these stories. Please submit a story to nominate an alum for the MA 100.
Possible areas of influence to get you started (there are many more!)
- Academics: teachers, professors, researchers, positions of leadership in education
- Arts, Culture, Athletics: musicians, visual artists, actors, journalists, coaches, athletes
- Business: Leaders and managers, mentors, entrepreneurs
- Christian Service: missionaries, pastors, Christian writers, church volunteers, parents
- Public Life & Community Service: elected officials, community volunteers, military personnel, government workers
Minnehaha Academy Alumni
Like the close friendships you formed as a student, the rewards, benefits, and fun of being a Minnehaha graduate will last a lifetime. The Alumni Office is the hub of alumni activity. As a member of the largest community at Minnehaha you are an important part of our mission. We value your prayers, your support, and your involvement. We want to help you reconnect with old friends and with Minnehaha as you take part in the many programs and events we plan especially for you.
Minnehaha Academy Distinguished Alumni Award
In 1986 the Development Committee of the Academy Board of Education recommended the conferral of an Honorary Alumni Award for graduates demonstrating outstanding achievement. This annual award is given to recognize alumni who exemplify Christian faith, leadership and service positively impacting local, national and/or global communities, demonstrate outstanding achievement in chosen field of endeavor, and make a significant contribution of time, talent or treasure to Minnehaha Academy. The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented each year by the President of the school at Commencement.

Special Events and Programs
The Alumni Office regularly organizes events on campus and around the country to help you keep in touch with alumni in your area and receive updates about Minnehaha. Special events include Homecoming, alumni sporting events, Minnehaha music concerts, regional social gatherings, and other fun events. The success of all alumni events depends on you.
Keeping in Touch
Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the alumni pages. We are eager to receive news and updates from our alumni. We maintain an alumni database on Minnehaha graduates around the world to enable classmates, friends, and groups to keep in touch, plan class reunions and informal gatherings. Whenever you move, please contact the Alumni Office with your new address so you will continue to receive alumni communications.
Student Recruitment
Your work as a “student recruiter” will be one of the most important things you can do for Minnehaha. The school seeks good students, like you, and many of those students choose Minnehaha because of the recommendation of a graduate.
